Up for sale is this 48 channel SSL 6000E series console in excellent condition.

I’m the 3rd owner. In my possession for 10 years. Located west of Melbourne Australia.

Late 80’s make.

Has been well looked after in non smoking studios. Maintained by reputable technician in Melbourne Australia. whilst in my possession it’s been used for my personal home studio use non commercial facility.

Upgraded power supply (1 unit) able to sit in control room made by the reputable Atomic Instruments in USA. Amazing unit.

Upgraded and latest computer with THD-Labs G+ which works with virtually any DAW Bringing the console into the new age as a simple plug in and full TOTAL RECALL and AUTOMATION. Totally cool unit.

The favorable Black Knob EQ’s on 44 channels and Orange Knob EQ’s on 4 channels.

Plasma screens. Adjusted.

I purchased 2 extra patchbays which were hand made in England by reputable guy who worked for SSL back in the day. Hard to find Moses and Mitchell all to spec.

The base is a cool 8 wheel base, solid as f$&@/.

Recently completely cleaned and restored to immaculate impressive condition both on and under the hood. Problematic issues rectified and works wonderfully as it should. Faders / Motors / modules / strips cleaned inside and out personally and I’m a neat freak so everything works exactly as it should. Faders glide like first day produced.

There are spare parts to last another lifetime quite literally. Faders. Knobs. Caps. There is an entire Centre section worth of BRAND NEW reversed engineered cards made by the tech Anthony who has manufactured these for huge world class engineers in the US. Tens of thousands of dollars worth of spare parts let alone the time spent sourcing and waiting and unwrapping.

All original manuals / books / servicing paperwork.

There’s nothing like the feel and sonic quality of a mixing desk like this baby!! Tested and AB’D plugins to The onboard Comps and EQ’s and you just can’t compare the two.


Nothing really more to say other than it will be missed greatly and will be sad to see it go but due to personal health issues it’s time to move on.


Reliable. Sturdy. Clean. Amazing. Fat Sound. Incredible Versatile. You won’t be disappointed.

Ideally would prefer to ship locally at least on the Australian continent however I am willing to ship anywhere in the world at the buyer’s expense of course.
