1993 Fender Custom Shop ‘50s P/J Precision Jazz Bass Olympic White Relic

What makes this guitar special: An early Custom Shop piece with fantastic playability and tone, at a more than affordable price. A previous owner went to the trouble of giving this one a heavy relic, but beyond the modifications to the finish and some changed tuners, it’s all original. The split P-bass pickup in the center position combined with the J bass pickup in the bridge position allows for all kinds of tonal variance and possibility. This one can just about do it all. Professionally setup by our expert in-house luthier, it will arrive ready to play right out of the case.

Cosmetic condition: The body has been refinished and then amateurly relic’d, with various scratches, dents, nicks, dings, chips, scuffs, and gouges, with finish wear and sanding throughout. The clear coat on the back of the neck has been sanded down for a smooth satin feel. The tuners have also been replaced, as has the headstock decal. There is some scuffing on top of the headstock, and fret edges show some mild wear as well. Overall, this one is in prime playing condition, with some player modifications.

Body: Contoured double cutaway alder body in relic’d olympic white finish with 3-ply tortoise pickguard and string-through bridge with dual steel barrel saddles.

Weight: 10 lb, 2 oz

Neck: C-shaped satin finished maple neck with black side dots and black dot inlays. Headstock sports a silver Fender logo on the front of the headstock and black Custom Shop logo on the back. Open gear tuners function perfectly. 1 5/8” nut width, 34” scale length. Frets show some wear, but have a lot of life left. Neck is straight and truss rod works as it should.

Electronics: Split Precision Bass pickup in the middle position with Jazz Bass single coil in the bridge position. Stacked knurled control knobs, 1x volume, 1x tone.

Case: Original hard shell case included.
