Up for sale, a 2020 Mike Lull TC5 electric five string bass in like new condition and in perfect working order. Mike Lull Guitar Works has been a mainstay of the Pacific Northwest music scene for over 35 years, with clients ranging from Pearl Jam to Cheap Trick. Taking cues from classic designs with tweaks both aesthetic and functional to satisfy modern players, Mike Lull built a reputation amongst high level touring and recording artists for providing expertly crafted and versatile basses that fit into a myriad of gigging situations.

A modern five-string take on the Jazz Bass format, the TC5 boasts a solid alder body, graphite-reinforced maple neck, thick slab rosewood fretboard, and pair of Nordstrand Fat-stack pickups with an Aguilar OBP-3 active preamp. Weighing 8lbs 13oz, this bass has a commanding rumble, pronounced midrange growl, smooth and articulate treble response, and healthy natural sustain that translates well through the pickups. Professionally setup with 45-125 roundwound strings and benefitting from the Lull factory PLEK treatment, this bass plays effortlessly with low action and spot-on intonation.

The maple neck has a rounded medium C shape with modest shoulder and comfortably rolled fretboard edges, measuring .830” deep at the 1st fret and .965” at the 12th. The thick slab rosewood fretboard features pearloid block inlay and pristine stock slender fretwire. The scale length is 34”, and the 1 3/4" carved bone nut offers ideal string spacing. The matching headstock sports a set of Hipshot Ultra-Lite tuning machines that turn smoothly and hold their pitch well, in addition to relieving a good amount of weight off the headstock, which improves balance and helps alleviate the traditional dead spots on the fretboard.

On the body, the electronics work as they should, with a push/pull Master Volume for active/passive operation, center detent pickup Blend, push/pull two-way Midrange with center detent boost/cut, and stacked Treble/Bass control for the pair of Nordstrand Fat-stack pickups. Cosmetically, this bass has barely a scratch on it, with gleaming chrome hardware and a rich dark gloss finish simply called "Custom Blue" by Lull. The neck profile sports an equally pristine satin finish.
