Yamaha SFZ MS9213U Marching Snare Drum - White

This used Yamaha SFZ MS9213U Marching Snare Drum in White is a highly regarded, professional-grade 11" x 13" high-tension marching snare drum. Though the MS-9200 Sforzando series has been discontinued by Yamaha and succeeded by the 9300 series, these original Japanese-made drums remain highly sought after for their robust construction, power, and precise articulation.

The 9200 Series Era (Mid-1990s to Early 2010s)

*The MS9200 Era* The MS9213U directly belongs to this era. It is highly regarded by drum corps enthusiasts as a robust, distinctively voiced generation.

• Shell Composition: Built with premium Birch shells, giving them a sharp, bright, and highly articulate attack.
• Manufacturing Origin: These drums were primarily Made in Japan.
• Design Milestones: Early 9200 series models did not feature an inner aluminum stabilization ring. However, midway through the 9200 era (early-to-mid 2000s), Yamaha updated the line to include aluminum insert rings to better prevent the birch shells from warping or bowing under extreme high-tension Kevlar head tuning.
• Vent System: This era featured the classic 3-hole acoustic vent configuration.

This Drum doesn't have its original top hoop. It's also showing its age by a little scuffing/scratches, minor dings\dents, dust, pitting and rust. Some of the lugs spin but still tune up. One of the ears on the snare wire is busted off. Still works as is.
