Rupert Neve Designs 551 Inductor EQ

The Rupert Neve Designs 551 is a three-band analog equalizer inspired by the most celebrated elements of Rupert Neve’s vintage EQ circuits. Featuring custom-wound inductors, transformers, and discrete Class-A electronics, the 551 combines classic British tonal character with modern precision and flexibility.

The low-frequency band offers selectable shelving or peaking responses for powerful, resonant bass shaping, while the inductor-based midrange provides musical tonal adjustments with a selectable High Peak mode for more focused frequency control. The high-frequency band combines vintage inductor circuitry with modern capacitor-based design, delivering smooth, detailed highs without harshness.

A fixed 80 Hz high-pass filter allows additional low-frequency control, making the 551 equally effective for tracking, mixing, and mastering applications.
