G&L JB bass, 2021, Gloss black, USA Fullerton Deluxe, HSC & paperwork

I have a 2021 G&L USA JB 4 String bass here. I have all the factory paperwork with it. These usually came with a soft case. This one comes with an SKB hard case that fits it like a glove.

Conditionally, it looks nice and clean.

The body top shows a small amount of guitar pick strumming on the plastic pickguard. Any similar superficial swirling will be minimal. Anywhere else on the body top, there will be faint traces of that, but not an accumulation or any patterns of any soft playwear. I did not find any individual marks.

The body sides/edges look great across the perimeter. I did not find any bumps, indentations, or chips. There are no neck pocket cracks. Any superficial swirling will be absolutely minimal.

The body back shows one small cluster of superficial playwear about a square inch in size that is about the same intensity as guitar pick strumming. But nothing I would constitute as buckle rash or worming, nor any other buildup of any soft pattern playwear. Any other surface swirling type playwear or minute signs of use will be scattered and minimal. I did not find any bumps, chips, or dings. Overall, the black finish looks fantastic back here. The minor signs of use that I noted here, you really do have to look hard for them. You have to turn it in the light and carefully inspect it.

The neck looks and feels great. I did not find any bumps or dings or anything to report there. It plays nicely. The original electronics are working as they should. The hard shell case has some light external surface signs of use, but is working as it should.

This bass rates a 9.1/10 and grades as excellent. I found just a minimal little scattering of surface playwear on the body back. Overall, the finish is like a lustrous black mirror. Very crisp and attractive. It is structurally and sonically sound and performs the way it should.

G&L guitars sadly did not have the deep pockets that Fender did to keep itself going during these hard competitive times. And this beloved company has folded, to my knowledge. It has and always will be a player's brand for people that know what they're looking at. They make fantastic instruments.

This is the G&L equivalent of Jazz bass. It has a maple fretboard an an alder body. Both of these woods are known for having an uncompressed "open" tonality to them that is warm from the body and bright from the neck. This classic counterbalance of tone. The G&L saddles and bridge are proprietary and add excellent clarity and overtones to the instrument. The Vintage voiced single coil pickups are also regarded as the most articulate pickup type in the bass pickup realm. So while this bass has a warm, sweet tone to it. It does not lack in definition and articulation. It's warm but clear and warm. Not muddy or boomy.

I will immaculately pack it as well. I use quality shipping boxes, ample tape on all sides. And sufficient bubble wrap filler and bracing inside the box. And always Marked/denoted as fragile. I generally detune guitars 1/2 half step prior to shipment as well if needed.
