Polytone 1970s Mini S15B Amp Combo, Near Mint - Black

This Polytone Mini S15B in black is in near-mint condition. Polytone built a loyal following among jazz guitarists and working musicians through the 1970s and beyond, and the Mini-Brute series became a go-to for players who needed a clean, full-frequency amplifier in a manageable package. 

The Mini S15B is a 100-watt solid-state combo built around a single 15" driver — in this period, typically a CTS unit, and the speaker here is original and in excellent condition. The lightweight plywood cabinet keeps the overall package manageable despite the speaker size and power rating. The sealed cabinet design delivers extended low-frequency response and a smooth, present midrange — characteristics well-suited to the full, round tone of a hollow or semi-hollow jazz guitar, though equally capable with a wide range of instruments. The chassis is all-metal, in excellent condition, and original. All potentiometers and knobs are original. There is no onboard reverb or tremolo. The covering is original black vinyl, and the grille is original acoustic foam in very good condition.

There are no repairs, changes, or issues with this amplifier. The cabinet is in excellent condition, the chassis is excellent, and the grille is very good. This is not a guitar instrument, so fret and setup specs do not apply. There is no case or cover included. Casters are included. There is no documentation included.

Amplifiers: We take additional precautions to prevent common shipping damage. Depending on the amp, this may include removing tubes, pulling the chassis from the cabinet if heavy transformers present a drop risk, or removing heavy speakers that could crack baffles in transit. Reassembly is required on delivery — we label everything clearly. These measures add to shipping costs but reflect hard-won experience. Vintage amplifiers (20 years or older) are sold as-is — all amps are tested in our shop upon intake and again before shipping. We cover shipping damage but cannot be responsible for the failure of vintage components in instruments that are 20 to 50-plus years old.
