Ibanez AD202 Multi Mode Analog Delay. 2U 19" rack unit, made in Japan, early 1980s. Serial 303510.

A genuine bucket-brigade analog delay — no digital circuitry anywhere. Three cascaded BBDs (2x MN3005, 1x MN3007), giving 60–400 ms of delay time in delay mode (factory spec).

FIVE MODES

Delay · Doubling · Flanger · Stereo Chorus · Normal (bypass)

IMPORTANT — VOLTAGE

This is the European factory version: AC 220–240 V, 50 Hz. It will NOT run on 120 V without a step-up transformer. Please make sure this suits your setup before buying.

CONDITION — ELECTRONICS

Fully working. All five modes tested and correct. All I/O verified: CH1, CH2, Effect Out, Dry Only Out, Footswitch. No scratchy pots, mode selector switches cleanly, all knobs present and turning smoothly.

WORK CARRIED OUT

Disclosed in full rather than hidden:

- Clock trimmer VR114 (delay mode) was dead. A previous owner had simply bridged it with a screw. Replaced with a new 10k trimmer.

- IC112 (4049 hex inverter, switching logic) replaced.

- Recalibrated strictly to the factory service manual: VR114 set to 11.75 kHz at test point CP4, delay mode, Delay Time fully CW and Width fully CCW. Factory spec is 11.5–12 kHz. Width sweep cross-check also within spec.

- Factory BBD bias and output balance trimmers deliberately left untouched.

Service manual and schematic (PDF) included with the sale.

CONDITION — COSMETIC

Honest player-grade patina, please see photos. The front panel has several paint chips, the largest around 8 mm across, where surface rust had formed. Rust has been removed mechanically. Deliberately NOT repainted — matching colour and sheen on a 40-year-old panel is not realistic, and a visible touch-up reads worse than the original wear. The next owner can decide differently. The top cover shows scratches and a small dark mark (see photos). All front panel legending is complete and undamaged.

INCLUDED

Unit only. No manual, no original box. Service manual and schematic supplied as PDF.

Ships from Germany, double-boxed with extra protection for the front panel. Packed weight 5.15 kg.
