Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.
You are looking at a beautiful 75th anniversary limited edition Shure Brothers 5575LE model dynamic cardioid microphone based off the original 1940's era Shure 55 model mic often referred to as the "Fatboy" and made famous by several musicians including a young Elvis Presley himself.
The Shure 55 made it's debut in 1939 being the worlds most sophisticated and best sounding dynamic cardioid mic ever developed for that time and had a run of 11 years until the second generation of smaller 55S model mics came along in 1951.
In 2014 Shure Brothers decided that on it's 75th year of being a business that they would launch the new version of the original calling it the 5575LE and there would only be 5500 examples sold. These mics sold for a very short time and sold out almost as fast as they were offered to the public. This is just the 2nd example I've had to offer in 4 years now and this examples is in mint condition. It comes with 100% of it's original accessories as seen in the pics provided.
Even though this mic is only about 10 years old it's one of the rarest mics in existence and they utilize the modern Super 55 dynamic cardioid element so they sound fantastic with it's Low Z setting. It has a strong, warm and smooth tone with just the right amount of bass and an excellent frequency response.
There is obvious wear on the exterior of the box and some water damage on the folder that holds the documents but otherwise everything else is perfect.
You'll see the mic has the original box, paperwork, photos, warranty card, data sheet and certificate of authenticity as well as the cable, stand and mic case in which to store. It has the keys to the case as well. If you want one of the best examples out there...this is your 5575LE.
Unlike the original 55 model this newer anniversary model has the practical XLR cable attachment and lacks the impedance switch as it's factory set at Low Impedance. It has red foam inner screens / pop filter instead of silk. It does have the same gorgeous satin chrome finish with a fantastic luster. The serial number of 3781 is on both the mic and the certificate.
The 5575LE is designed to screw onto any desk or floor stand you might have though a stock desk stand is provided which makes for a very stable platform and is very similar to the original Shure S-36 model of that era.
The short cable is great for having audio equipment close to you but you can attach any longer XLR cable of choice if needed.
If you need a very special mic with excellent sound for those special occasions or every day use then consider this instant classic which very few musicians have. The 5575LE is a legend and an excellent investment as Shure has no plans to make any more of these models.
