Offered for sale is a beautiful and increasingly difficult to find 1928 Martin Handcraft straight soprano saxophone, featuring its striking silver-plated body with genuine gold-plated keywork and gold-plated bell interior.

This instrument has undergone an extensive professional restoration and is now fully serviced, adjusted and ready to play.

The restoration included:

• Complete disassembly and cleaning
• All new pads
• All round needle springs replaced
• All new corks and felts
• Seized and corroded screws carefully freed and serviced
• Keywork thoroughly cleaned and serviced
• Mechanical play addressed where necessary
• Keywork regulated and adjusted
• Pads individually seated and checked
• Complete final mechanical setup

The objective throughout the restoration was to preserve the original 1928 instrument while returning it to reliable playing condition.

Original Silver & Gold Plate Finish

One of the particularly attractive features of this Martin is its genuine silver and gold plate combination.

The body is silver plated, while the contrasting gold-plated keywork and bell interior give the instrument a spectacular appearance. The detailed Martin Handcraft bell engraving remains clearly visible.

The finish shows normal signs of age and use appropriate for an instrument approaching 100 years old.
