Martin / 2013 Style-2K Concert Ukulele
"My ukulele playing has come along, and I'm ready for a serious, 'forever' instrument..." Does that sound like you? Stepping up from a beginner model, it can be hard to know which one will actually reward your playing with a rich, full sound.
Laminate-top ukuleles inevitably run into limits on tonal depth and sustain. Even after all your practice pays off, if the instrument's potential can't keep up, playing it can leave you feeling like something's missing. On top of that, Hawaiian koa - a rare tonewood - keeps climbing in price year after year, and good solid-wood models are only going to get harder to find. What you think you'll get around to buying "someday" may end up priced out of reach.
For anyone in that position, we're happy to confidently recommend this 2013 Martin Style-2K Concert.
A concert model, all-solid Hawaiian koa body, built by Martin - the king of acoustic guitar makers. Over a decade since it was built in 2013, the wood has dried out just the right amount and opened up, growing into a rounded, sweet, full tone that a brand-new instrument simply can't produce. The moderate string tension typical of the concert size handles everything from light chord strumming to delicate solo playing. The elegant look of the beautiful koa grain is satisfying to own even just to look at.
With solid Hawaiian koa instruments, the grain is everything. This particular example shows rich, expressive figure that changes with the angle of light - a pattern that exists nowhere else in the world. Combined with a tone that's matured over more than a decade of playing, this instrument really is a once-in-a-lifetime find. We'd like to pass it along only to someone who truly wants to enrich their everyday playing with an authentic voice.
If you're instantly drawn to this exceptional grain and sweet tone, please add it to your cart now before someone else takes it home. It could be the encounter that takes your ukulele playing to the next level.
