High quality long body U47 style tube microphone built in the UK. Designed to deliver the classic warm, rich midrange and extended low end that defined the original Neumann U47.
Key Features
• Capsule: STW7 (M7) manufactured by Rico Vetterlein. Based on the original Neumann M7 dual diaphragm design. Vetterlein worked closely with Siegfried Thiersch from capsule number 30 onwards. Each capsule is individually numbered and fully tested after installation in the microphone.
• Tube: Genuine Telefunken EF14 pentode. Closely related to the original VF14 used in early U47s, but operates with a lower heater voltage. Widely regarded as a superior alternative to the more commonly used EF800 in high quality U47 style builds.
• Tube Socket: Specially designed high resistance socket for the impedance converter stage, selected to minimise leakage currents and contribute to lower noise and improved overall performance.
• Output Transformer: Custom FAB V8, wound to original Neumann BV8 specifications on a four chamber bobbin. Features Faraday shielding and is varnished for mechanical stability and reduced microphonics.

Laminations: 80% nickel permalloy
• Capacitors: ClarityCap ESA film capacitors used in the signal path for low dielectric absorption, low noise, and accurate frequency response.
• Build: All mechanical components are manufactured to be fully interchangeable with original long body Neumann U47 microphones. 6 pin Tuchel connector featuring silver plated contacts for reliable low resistance connection and long term durability.
