We bought a collection of old Tenor Banjos. Something about them fascinates me, but Tenor Banjo's are way outside what we do, and I admit to a certain ignorance about them. I had a couple buddies more knowledgeable than I tell me this guy was from the 20's, possible early 30's. It is stamped (branded?) Maybell on the back of the headstock, and I understand some of these were made by Slingerland. It's a gorgeous playable instrument that's around 100 years old, made in the USA with a case. Seventeen frets, 22 tension rods, and a thing of beauty! The case is, I was told the case it has always been in, and fits very well, but the case is slightly longer, like it would fit a banjo with a longer neck.
Thanks for looking!
