The glorious Hiwatt DR504 Custom 50 watt head. Hiwatt amps have been used extensively by legendary players such as David Gilmour and Jimmy Page. This amp sounds phenomenal, MEGA loud but a little more manageable than the Dr-103. This is a mostly original 1977. The more desirable four input model. Works perfectly. Handwired to military spec by Harry Joyce Co. There is nothing more beautiful than Hiwatt wiring. Power tubes are NOS Mullard xf2 EL34s. The preamp tubes are 3 12AX7s and one 12AT7 all NOS IEC Mullards. They test VERY strong and make this amp every bit as great as possible. The Hiwatt was designed with the Mullard EL34 in mind. This is the the valuable vintage glass you want to see in these amps. Original partridge transformers. Freshly biased. The indicator lamp was replaced. A couple of pots were replaced years back. To ensure safe, reliable and the highest performance. All the electrolytic capacitors were replaced as well, using the highest quality F&T capacitors. This is a solid example of a well kept and maintained DR504. See pictures for cosmetics. Most notably a piece of the AC voltage selector is broken slightly, but does not effect the use of it at all. The tolex is in pretty nice shape, has only a few scuffs and bumps. Nothing major. Chassis is nice. Sounds like a beast. Beware of Hiwatt amps from the mid 80's and newer Hiwatt amps of the 2000's, they are not the same as these hand wired earlier models. You can spend over 4k on the newest reissue hiwatt or get the real thing full of vintage glass. Your choice.
