DARK RAW Istanbul Mehmet TURK Origin Dark Crash 16”

Here’s one of the nicest sounding DARK, organic COMPLEX FAST crashes you will hear. And it’s the only one I’ve ever seen. As far as unlathed crash cymbals go, this one has a fullness but it still retains that famous dry, organic and raw tone with a faster decay.
Istanbul Mehmet TURK style ORIGIN DARK Crash 16” in immaculate shape. The Origin Dark is a Turk with a slightly thinner weight and smaller bell. And who doesn’t love that story!!
These unlathed and raw cymbals have long been one of Agop and Mehmet’s best-selling series. It put them on the map 30 years ago.
Unlathed. Raw. Heavily Hand Hammered in the classic circular style. This one has gold and sienna hues with raw and blackened accents.
The result is an absolutely fantastic sounding DARK DRY CRASH that cuts without clanking through life. Full but without clanking.
At 1040 grams it plays like Thin to Medium Thin Crash but it’s darker and lower-pitched than many a K Zildjian and plays a bit thinner than it weighs.
Actually being Hand Hammered offers a rich, fullness that a machine-made Zildjian can only dream of.
Smoky decay that is medium fast.
Perfect for very soft to loud.
No issues. Amazing shape. A true DARK DRY FAST CRASH. The only one I have, the only one I’ve seen.
