Excellent condition TASCAM 238 8-track cassette multitrack recorder, fully serviced, calibrated and ready for analogue recording.

The 238 is a fantastic way to get into analogue multitrack recording without the complexity and expense of larger tape formats. Eight tracks on standard cassette makes it incredibly practical for home studios, songwriting, overdubbing and recording complete projects.

This example has been thoroughly serviced and calibrated, including:

- Transport fully rebuilt and serviced

- Capstan motor PCB capacitors replaced

- Record calibration

- Playback calibration

- Bias calibration

- Tape path thoroughly cleaned

- Transport operation checked

- All channels tested for recording and playback

The 238 also works well alongside a modern studio setup — record, overdub, bounce and mix to tape while keeping the workflow simple and tactile.

Condition

Great cosmetic condition with minor scratches and no major marks or dents.

Includes a sealed Type II Sony cassette tape so you can get started straight away.

Note: The shuttle transport knob is missing, but replacement knobs are available online.

The machine operates on 100V and may require a suitable step-down transformer depending on your location.
