Wonderful Epiphone "Blackstone", made in NYC in 1946. 16" lower bout makes it comfortable to hold and play. Solid carved spruce top, beautifully figured maple back, mahogany neck, rosewood fingerboard. Armstrong floating pickup sounds big and warm. Recent pro fretwork, this guitar plays very nice and easy.
At some point the lacquer was stripped off the top- there is a finish, but not the high gloss nitro that there is on the back. Neck has been sanded smooth as well. There are a few filled screw holes here and there and a couple of repaired top cracks, but the guitar is 100% sound and ready to play for another 60 years. Probably not a collectors item, but a very fine vintage American-made instrument that sounds and plays just right. Comes with new Breedlove hard case.
