Geek Fuzz #19 Germanium with External Bias Control by PFG Pedals Fuzz Face/Tone Bender

This is the pinnacle of fuzz, the Geek Fuzz. I have taken what I loved about my favorite fuzz pedals and crammed them into one deceptively simple unit. The Geek Fuzz by PFG Pedals produces sparkling cleans, mild crunch, chunky overdrive, and blistering leads, all with your guitar's volume control. The best parts available are combined with sorted, graded, hand tested and sonically matched germanium transistors from my Magic Numbers stash. These are the top 5% of devices that fall within what are widely considered to be the perfect gain readings. The best of the best. They go through a multi-tiered review process that extends over weeks to ensure consistency and temperature stability. Devices will always lie within the 75-150hfe range with under 100microamps of leakage. These parts are expensive, so to keep the prices reasonable there is no artwork, hence the Fuzz Without a Face series. I will put my pedals up against anything else on the market.

The signature feature of the Geek Fuzz is the toggle switch which let's you pick a 1 uf input cap for full, fat fuzz, or a 47 nf for a sharp, bright lead tone that cuts through a mix. Also, Clean control is standard or can be swapped for a Bias control at your request. Clean acts as a second gain control and helps unlock many overdrive sounds. Bias lets you adjust the voltage to the transistors to creat dying battery/tering velcro sounds.

This individual unit, #19, includes an external Bias Control in lieu of the standard Clean Control. Bias allows you to control the voltage at the transistor level unlocking a host of interesting sounds that are typically not available. Just set the control to noon for normal 4.5V bias sounds

-Powered by 9V battery or DC power jack powered. Please remember to use only an isolated supply, no daisy chains, due to the reverse polarity of these vintage transistors.
