This guitar came into the shop and totally rocks! It plays, looks, and sounds awesome. Memphis Guitars were affordable guitars that were imported from Asia and distributed in the United States by C. Bruno and Sons in the mid-1970s to 1980s. The product line included Fender and Gibson-styled instruments as well as some original designs. In the early years they were manufactured by Matsumoku Industrial.
The weird thing with Memphis guitars is that it is near impossible to find out anything about the specific guitars. They used 3 different logos, rarely used serial numbers, and I couldn't specifically find out where the guitar was built (Matsumoku is located in Japan, but everywhere we've looked just says "Asia"). Regardless, this is a really incredible vintage guitar and it's in great shape!!
