Camarou Neck and Head with Curly Maple Fretboard.
Pick Up:
Piezo Transducer Pick Up
Description:
George created a beautifully understated Tenor guitar using a vintage Jaime Garcia box, a repurposed/recycled Camarou carved neck with a highly-figured Curly Maple fretboard and pearloid fret markers. Our new design incorporates neck-through construction adding stability to the entire instrument while creating a semi-hollowbody sound. Hand-cut F-holes on either side of the neck allow the two sound chambers to breathe acoustically and the piezo transducer pickup adds the amplified option for the player.
String Tinkers Instruments
All String Tinkers instruments are hand-made in Connecticut, USA. All of the neck and fretboard wood is made from repurposed floorboards. The neck is hand carved. And the parts are antique found objects except for the tuners, wood bridges, and strings. The pickups are custom made for String Tinkers. Each instrument sounds unique and amazing.
