Taylor DN5 ES Acoustic Guitar—ESSENTIALLY NEW

About the Seller

I’m a player who loves guitars.  I buy and sell a ton.  I continue to reduce my collection.  Simply got out of hand.  Please see my other auctions.

I’m an excellent Buyer/Seller.  I look forward to working with others who have excellent feedback and who are looking for a smooth, fast, hassle-free transaction.

About the Guitar

Taylor DN5 ES Acoustic Guitar.  An all but unplayed guitar.  A real dreadnaught (unlike other Taylor shapes).  No longer made.  Solid Sitka Spruce top, solid Mahogany back and sides, Ebony fretboard.

Special Order.  I ordered this guitar in spring 2010 from Mojo Music in Edwardsville, IL.  I worked directly with the Midwest Taylor District Rep along the way.

Shape.  Dreadnaughts are my choice.  Big and ballsy for flatpicking.  They bring more and more as you dig in.  Big bottom end.  I don’t find that in other Taylor shapes.

Woods.  I have Sitka/Rosewood guitars, including Taylor.  They’re kind of scooped through a PA system.  I wanted the gutsier, low-mid of mahogany for this guitar.  Some flame in top.

The Build.  I ordered this guitar with the following changes to the standard design.

·1-11/16” nut width (Martin spec) rather than standard 1-3/4" Taylor width.

·Latest and greatest ES system at that time (not the present ES2 system).  Upgraded EQ circuitry and transducers.  Identifiable by a single slide switch on the circuit board.

·Chrome hardware Instead of gold.  I’m not a gold hardware fan.  Gaudy.  Oxidizes.  Chrome is sharp—like a Harley.  Looks awesome on red mahogany.

·Sunburst to match mahogany sides.  Unusual for Taylor.  Took some doing.  Makes this DN5 very rare.

·Tortoise pickguard.  Normally clear or non-existent on the DN5.  Tortoise is classy.

Condition.

·Immaculate.  Essentially unplayed.  I ordered it for a project that never panned out.  Might have an hour’s playing time.  Perhaps some pick marks, but very little.  No scratches, nicks, chips, dings, rash, etc.  In fact, it still has the original Elixir strings and they’re in decent shape.

Case.

·Ships in original hardshell case.  Excellent condition.

Shipping.

·$40 flat rate insured to Continental 48 States.  I pack well.

·No international shipping.

Thanks for looking.  Peace & Blessings.  ADJ6
