Description by Gibson:
The Gibson M-III delivers shredder-approved style, tone and playability.
The M-III has re-emerged after an extended hiatus. This sleek hard-rockin' machine first appeared in 1991 and is now back with updated features that will take you straight to the cutting edge. The new M-III features a radically shaped double-cutaway design that is carved from Mahogany. The body is contoured to maximize player-comfort. The choice of mahogany for the body has long been a Gibson standby, and presents the depth, richness and resonance for which that timber has long been famous.
A glued-in maple neck adds brightness and clarity to the tone. The Grade-A maple fingerboard has a 25 ½" scale length, a compound radius for easy chording and smooth bending. The fingerboard is topped off with 24 jumbo frets and contrasting black arrowhead inlays. Finally, a fast, slim profile will sit comfortably in your fretting hand which will make you want to play for hours on end. The guitar's body and neck are finished in high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. The M-III is a shred-machine you will not want to put down.
The new M-III is outfitted with a trio of its most powerful pickups, including Dirty Fingers+ humbuckers in the neck and bridge position, and a Dirty Fingers+ single coil in the middle. A five-way switch, combined with push-pull switching on the master tone control for humbucker coil-splitting, take you everywhere from warm, vocal neck pickup tones, to roaring crunch and soaring leads in the bridge, to bright, shimmering single-coil tones--all with the power and sustain that Gibson is legendary for.
The black-plated hardware includes a Floyd Rose vibrato with locking nut and Grover Mini-Kidney tuners. This tried and true system will withstand the most aggressive soloing and divebombing to maintain perfect tune. The control knobs are easy-grip knurled black metal. This updated version of the M-III does away with a pickguard to accentuate the exciting new finishes. Finally, the M-III comes in a plush-lined Gibson USA hardshell case. It includes an owner's manual and adjustment literature, and Gibson's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Service.
