About this listing
This guitar is a piece of memorabilia, and a very interesting one at that. Back in 1988, a catastrophic earthquake has struck Armenia, almost completely destroying some cities, including Spitak (which was damaged the most) and Gyumri (then called Leninakan). Some prominent international rock bands have decided to release an album called Rock Aid Armenia, and donate all the revenue to the citizens of Leninakan. Along those musicians were Tony Iommi, the guitarist for Black Sabbath, and Ian Gillan, the vocalist for Deep Purple. Long after they have released the aforementioned album, they paid a few visits to Armenia, namely to help open a music school, among other reasons. The owner of this guitar happened to be from Gyumri and participate in a demonstrative gig for Tony and Ian, which happened in 2019. He then got these signatures, covered them with a piece of laminating film and proceeded to use this guitar as his #1 for a number of years: this person is a passionate musician, not just a memorabilia collector, and that can be seen in the signatures' condition. Now he wants a better guitar to pursue a music career and therefore decided to sell this Ibanez with our help. It's an inspirational story to say the least. The guitar itself is in good condition: the strings sit on medium action, everything works well, including the Ibanez Edge tremolo system and INF pickups. This could be a very interesting show-piece or a decorative piece; you can as well take the pickguard off, put it in a frame and then install a new pickguard and use this guitar as a musical instrument without any fear of damaging a very rare signature combo.Worldwide shipping.
