Solid Sitka Spruce Top with Solid African Mahogany Back and Sides This new iteration of the D-40 Standard provides the ultimate dreadnought sound. With itâs solid Sitka Spruce top with solid African Mahogany back and sides, the D-40 Standard serves up remarkable volume, clarity, and sustain thatâs perfect for anything from vocal accompaniment to solo work, and many other âunpluggedâ applications. The D-40 Standard manifests vintage charm with timeless appointments such as a tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, white ABS binding, and Guildâs peak logo inlay on the headstock. Scalloped Adirondack Spruce Bracing Guild adds forward-shifted scalloped Adirondack bracing for power, nuance and responsiveness. Combined with a Sitka Spruce top and African Mahogany back and sides, this bracing provides a punchy tone with smooth top end. Indian Rosewood Fingerboard and Bridge An Indian Rosewood fingerboard caps the comfortable C-profile Mahogany neck. Premium materials such as an Indian Rosewood bridge, 20:1 open-gear tuners, and a hand-cut bone nut and saddle finish off the D-40 Standard. Available in Natural and New Pacific Sunset Burst Finish Options In addition to the classic Natural finish, Guildâs new 40 Standard Series debuts the new Pacific Sunset Burst. Inspired by Guildâs Southern California home, this new finish embodies casual elegance with a subtle edge burst. Each D-40 Standard ships with a Guild archtop wood case with built-in Humicase® humidification system.
