The Grover Roto-Grip Locking Rotomatics Machine Heads are a practical evolution of the classic Rotomatic design, incorporating a secure locking mechanism to simplify maintenance and improve performance. Efficient Locking Mechanism & Precise Gearing The Roto-Grip system is straightforward to operate: you simply thread the string through the post hole, wrap it once, and tighten the thumb screw to secure it. This eliminates the need for multiple winds around the post, which is a common source of tuning instability as strings stretch and settle. Internally, the tuners feature a high 18:1 gear ratio for exceptionally fine tuning control. Like other Rotomatic models, the gears are sealed and permanently lubricated to ensure they remain smooth and reliable for the life of the instrument. Versatile Drop-in Replacement These machine heads are designed to be a convenient "drop-in" replacement for many standard tuners, making them an easy upgrade for a wide range of guitars. They fit the same footprint as the Grover 102 and 502 series, meaning you can often swap them out without the need for new mounting holes.
