The Combustion NG is part of Dingwall's "ready to play" or "built in China, finalized in Canada" series. It is the affordable version of their Custom Shop instruments and a very nice piece of workAnd yes, it's great for metal (as its connection to Periphery's bassist/producer Nolly Getgood implies), but the NG can do much more than that. The low end of these basses -as of any Dingwall for that matter- is rock solid and the frequency range super wide. This is largely due to the multi-scale setup and the Darkglass preamp. Any studio or FOH engineer will love this bass too!The Combustions NGs are available with two or three Dingwall FD-3N pickups. The two pickup configurations can be set up as a humbucker (side by side) or as a Jazz Bass (like Dingwall's Super-J). The fingerboard is always made of maple and the body of alder.
