Zildjian Relaunches FX Line with FX Stacks, Unveils New In-Ear Monitors

Drum manufacturer Zildjian made some pre-NAMM announcements this week about what fans can expect for 2019's product line, starting with the relaunch of its FX cymbal line. New for 2019 is the FX Stacks—a new range for drummers looking for a way to add modern, trashy accent sounds to their acoustic kits.

The FX Stacks come in pairs and can be stacked traditionally or used as hi-hats—and players can switch between formats utilizing the brand's new Cymbolt mount—and come in a variety of sizes: 8, 10, 12, 14, or 16 inches. Also included in the FX range is the new 22-inch FX Oriental Crash of Doom—a slightly bigger version of the popular 20-inch model that promises to offer an even darker, lower-pitched, and more explosive sound.

But it wasn't all cymbal news from the drum giant. Zildjian also announced that it would be breaking into a new market for 2019, with the release of its brand-new in-ear monitors, designed especially for drummers.

According to Mike Sutton, the Accessories and Electronic Percussion Category Manager at Zildjian, the in-ear monitors deliver a "round low end, a detailed mid-range and smooth high end," thanks to its special Dual Dynamic Driver. He adds, "Plus, with the use of the SpinFit ear tips, which have a 360 degree range of motion, you will have better comfort and isolation versus traditional ear tips."
