Christian Bland's MCI Guitorgan | Find of the Week

Sometimes, you come across an instrument so captivating that it forces you to make some hard decisions—if you're serious about getting the new piece of gear.

Such is the case right now for The Black Angels' Christian Bland. He recently came across a vintage Vox that he can't get out of his mind. So to fund its purchase, he's selling another very cool guitar, his 1970s MCI Guitorgan.

As he writes in his Reverb listing: "I bought this 10 years ago and used it very little with The Black Angels because I’m left-handed and the Guitorgan is right-handed. I’d keep it and flip the electronics to lefty, but I’ve got my eyes set on my dream guitar, which is $5,000, so please help me help you help me get the Vox Ultrasonic I’ve got my eye on by purchasing this lovely Guitorgan!"

That is, in a word, relatable.

Christian's Guitorgan is a B300 model, built by the Waco, Texas-based Musiconics International (MCI) in the early '70s. He writes that everything is intact—the elaborate electronics, the pedal to help control them, and anything else you'd need "to plug and play your heart away on guitar and organ simultaneously, or just organ, or just guitar."
