Charvel Releases a New DK Series Model, Updates Finishes | NAMM 2020

NAMM kicked off today in Anaheim, which means that we're now getting a look at the 2020 product lines from brands that didn't treat us to any kind of pre-convention news or sneak peeks. One such brand is Charvel, and today, we're taking a quick look at some of the new gear found at their booth for the year ahead.

Similarly to Jackson, which also falls under Fender's distribution umbrella, Charvel is releasing a slew of brand-new finishes for various models in their existing product lines.

Pro-Mod DK24 HSS FR M Popular in Purple Sunset

Some of our favorites from Charvel include a new Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 11 HH FR E model featuring an ash body and a sharp "Old Yella" finish with complementary black hardware and The Pro-Mod DK24 HSS FR M Popular in "Purple Sunset" with black hardware.

Charvel is also a new model series to the DK (Dinky) line of guitars, the Pro-Mod DK22 SS 2PT CM. The DK22 features an alder Dinky body with a scalloped lower back, married to a bolt-on caramelized maple neck with graphite reinforcement and a hand-rubbed satin urethane finish on the back and a 12- to 16-inch compound radius fingerboard with rolled edges and 22 jump frets.

Pro-Mod DK22 SSS 2PT CM in Electric Blue

The guitar come in at a 25.5-inch scale length and is routed for an SSS pickup configuration, with a direct mount Seymour Duncan Custom Hot Rails Strat SHR-1B humbucking pickup in the bridge, a direct mount Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 Single-Coil in the middle, and an SSL-6 RWRP single-coil in the neck. It features a Gotoh Custom 510 Tremolo bridge, Strat-style skirt knobs, and a five-way blade switch and volume control.

You can find the new DK22 in either Gloss Black, Electric Blue, or Pharoahs Gold with chrome hardware. For more news from the NAMM floor, click the banner below to follow along.
