Gibson Explorer '76, Cherry, 2001 with Gibson Hardcase

This 2001 Gibson Explorer '76 is part of Gibson’s long-running USA reissue line based on the 1976 reintroduction of the Explorer, and it has all the bold visual appeal and no-nonsense attitude that make these guitars so iconic. Finished in Cherry, it is a proper statement piece, but this one also has a bit of extra character thanks to the neck pickup having been swapped for a handmade no-brand P90 that appears to be of high quality, giving it a slightly rawer and more distinctive voice than a standard example. It also comes with its original Gibson hardcase, which is a particularly nice thing to have with an Explorer, given the guitar’s larger, more awkward shape.

Condition
This guitar is in good condition overall, with a fair number of dings and scratches across the body, so it is by no means a mint example. That said, it remains a very honest and great-looking player’s instrument with loads of life left in it. The wear is cosmetic only and does not take away from what makes this guitar appealing - a proper USA Gibson Explorer '76 with plenty of attitude, an interesting high-quality pickup swap, and the bonus of its original hardcase.
