So I’ve taken this as far as I can and it’s time to sell on and let someone else enjoy it.
I bought it about 3 or so years ago needing one or two tweaks (the auto return and an earth buzz) which were actually easy fixes.
I upgraded the cart and stylus, mat and phono cables and oiled / lubricated anything that needed..er..oiling and lubricating.
It also comes with all the original parts (inc the phono cables which I forgot to take a pic of), also the Ortofon FF10E cart and use-able stylus).
I had a lid made though the old one wasn’t actually that bad!
Here’s a list of what I’ve done:
Audio-Technica VM540ML cart with recent stylus change (VMN40ML) + RigB (black) body upgrade (makes a HUGE difference –I have the box too), all set up and ready to go with correct tracking (stylus pressure) and alignment.
Pure Silver Cotton Interconnects (RCA / phono) with Furutech FP-160 Gold High Performance Audio RCA Connectors (NOT cheap!).
Lid made by IntoVinyl (eBay). The hinges work well with this even though it’s heavier (some small black rubber bands hidden at the rear of the hinges).
Replaced the rubber mat with an anti-static one (don’t know if it made any difference but it looks cool!).
Replaced the headshell as the Pioneer one was buzzing.
The mains is 110v but the transformer works well (as long as it’s not VERY near the deck or amp), the cable is not long but it’s not a prob to find the right place.
I’ve made some videos which I’ll send on to show it’s all working as it should.
Speeds are excellent.
4cm crack in the lid (see pics) which I did recently like a twit!! Not really noticeable when using it though.
Veneer is decent though not perfect.

There’s a small chance I may keep the cart and sell with the Ortofon, the price will be lower if so.

Would prefer not to send but could meet halfway for a little fuel, Newhaven (UK) based.
