Presenting this 1993 B.C. Rich Ironbird Platinum Series, Made in Korea. Includes hard-shell case, Floyd-Rose licensed tailpiece, reverse headstock, upgraded electronics and a quick and dirty lacquer refinish. Upgrades include:
- DiMarzio USA humbucker in the bridge pushing 15.5k
- Duncan Design humbucker in the neck pushing 14.5k
- brand new wiring harness with CTS 500k pots & switchcraft toggle
- mini switch bypasses volume and tone, also works as a kill switch
- refinished with thin urethane lacquer
- brand new setup. plays better than new
- reverse headstock for better string tension and less breakage
Yeah, the refinish isn't perfect, I stripped and shot the guitar quick because the old finish had to go. Some uneven areas and "road worn" spots here and there, but the thin lacquer significantly improved the weight, resonance, and overall feel of the guitar. It's plywood, it's kinda ugly, but hell. It's a player. I left the backplate off because nobody leaves it on.
I also completely rewired the guitar. Seeing that a previous owner had upgraded the bridge pickup to a super-hot Dimarzio USA humbucker, I replaced all the thin old wires with thicker gauge, ditched the tired old pots in favor of CTS 500ks and a .22 cap, and re-worked the mini toggle switch to act as a volume/tone bypass. Roll back the volume and you've got a kill switch.
This guitar is a heavy metal machine. Poodle hair sold separately
