On offer is a self-built banjo, which I have named "Djembala", as the tension of the skin is pulled by metal rings and ropes in a similar way to a djembe drum. What began as an experiment has produced amazing tonal characteristics that differ from a conventional modern banjo. It sounds voluminous and warm at the same time, without losing the percussive "twang" of a banjo.

About the features:

- Size 12 inch

- Neck & rim wood mahogany

- Block rim construction

- Ebony fingerboard & headstock

- Fingerboard scoop

- Calfskin

- Steel rings

- Strech resistant ropes

- Bone nut

- Maple and ebony bridge

- Ebony tailpiece

- GHS medium strings

The instrument shows some traces in the wood and varnish, but these are not damage caused by knocks or anything else but work & progress traces. I am therefore selling it for a low (used) price. If you are looking for something special, you will find it here.
