This is a replacement side panels for the moog Sub Phatty & Little Phatty or Stage2.

The wood used for these side panels is Japanese hinoki.

Hinoki is a wood native to Japan and is known as Japanese cypress outside of Japan.

The Japanese cypress used for these side panels is not the highest grade of wood in order to keep costs down, but the rest of the processing and finishing is done by the best craftsmen, just like the more expensive side panels.

The side panels are dyed black by hand by craftsmen, while the cavity part is left undyed, leaving it in its natural cypress color.

Hinoki is a wood species that changes over time, gradually turning a light brown. The cavity is not stained so that you can enjoy the changes over time.

The finish is an organic oil finish followed by a coating of beeswax.
