Product Description (B-Stock)
This guitar is built using the classic combination of a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides. This combination has stood the test of time for good reason and is probably the most used acoustic guitar wood set in the world due to having excellent balance and being suitable for every genre.
Being a dreadnought makes the guitar a great choice for players looking for volume and fullness, particularly whilst strumming. There's a reason that most bluegrass guitarists choose to use a dreadnought during their jam sessions; it cuts through the fiddles, mandolins, banjos and other such competition! The DS-240 Memoir has a beautiful retro look to it thanks to the gorgeous vintage sunburst, script logo and sloped, dropped shoulders rather than square. The nut width on this guitar is 43mm and the neck is a C-shape, offering a very comfortable feel for most players - not too big and not too small. The saddle and nut are made of bone which allow excellent energy transference between the strings and the wood.
This is a great sounding, well-made instrument that offers years of Guild's expertise and design innovation.
B-Stock
Although this guitar still sounds great, it has received some significant damage to the sides of the guitar when traveling to a customer by courier. The lacquer as broken into the spruce underneath and the top has separated slightly from the side. Fortunately the bracing and structure was un-harmed and guitar is still completely playable. The neck is still pitching just fine and there are no nasty rattle's or vibrations when playing. This guitar honestly still sounds great.
