Gries 12 Tube Reverb amp is based very closely on the AA1164 Princeton Reverb. The blackface PR was probably the most popular studio amp in the 1960's. If it wasn't, then it was a close second behind the Deluxe Reverb. It's simply an incredible sounding amp and is very appropriate in today's smaller, quieter rooms. It's also light & portable, a plus for today's aging backs. The circuit isn't changed in any way, but the Gries 12 does have a 12" Eminence Screamin' Eagle speaker (as opposed to a stock Princeton's 10"). As with all Gries amps, it is built using a 1/8" fiberglass circuit board, not the fiberboard that was in the originals. Convenient bias test points and an adjustment pot have been added.
