Here's an excellent opportunity to purchase this JV ST554 Contemporary Series Squier Stractocaster. Finished in rare Torino Red and made in Japan by Fujigen in Nagano, the JV serial number dates it to between 1982 - 1984. Fujigen built Squier models for Fender right up until 1987 using various serial number and digit sequences, however the JV Japan vintage models were produced for the first 3 years being 1982 - 1984 and referred to as the golden years by enthusiasts. All other serial numbers. E, O, A, SQ etc were the later years.

This guitar is in excellent condition with little or no marks, everything works, electrics, healthy frets, straight neck, working truss rod (both ways) and no big dings on the body or missing paint other than some fine hairline marks, swirls and some fine scratches just usual wear marks pretty good for a 40+ year vintage instrument. The guitar is all original except for the pickups which have been swapped out at some point in its history for a Greco Screaming Humbucker in the neck and a Gotoh vintage humbucker in the bridge, both sound excellent with lots of power and tone and both pickups from the early 80s and in keeping with the guitars date. Two matching pickup surrounds have been added to the original single ply pickguard to house the pickups as the original Fender Humbucker pickups have additional holes for adjustment and so this would have been necessary. The guitar is without the rear tremolo cover and arm but does come with a Fender padded gig bag as shown. An excellent guitar that's both rare and attractive in its Torino Red body, black neck and matching hardware.
