We are very proud to list this Fender 1999 Custom Shop Jaguar XK-50 Stratocaster for sale in mint/as new condition. The phase "museum piece" gets used a lot but if any guitar deserves this status, this is it. We have never seen one of these models in such original condition. The only thing to note on this is some small areas of tarnishing/oxidation on the gold plated hardware.

The guitar looks to be un-played with the original factory seal still on the bridge. We have chosen not to do a great deal to this guitar as we want the new owner to have it in original condition. We do know this guitar has changed hands on a few occasions. We have been told that for the majority of it's life, this guitars home was with a member of staff at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London.

It has not been played and carefully stored in the original gig bag within the flightcase throughout various ownerships. The gold-plated four-bolt neck-plate is engraved "Jaguar XK 50 Stratocaster / 20 of 25". It comes with the original flight case, original white leather gig bag, matching leather guitar strap with Jaguar logo, original certificate of authenticity, Fender cleaning cloth, packaged trem springs, tremolo arm, gold ash tray cover in the original wrapping, hook to hang the gig bag up, Fender guitar cable, Custom Shop sticker and owners manual. Whether you are a guitar collector or Jaguar enthusiast the ownership of this unique guitar is bound to make someone very happy indeed.

Here's a little back story into what we know about this model:

In 1999 Fender Custom Shop worked very closely with Jaguar and [Fender Managing Director, the legendary] Ivor Arbitor [1929-2005] to build just 25 of these British Racing Green Stratocaster to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the world renowned Jaguar XK engine. All 25 were handcrafted by Master Builder Stephen Stern at Fender Custom Shop and a huge amount of care and attention went into making sure this model truly represented both brands in the best way.

The Burled Walnut used on fretboard and headstock matches that of a Jaguar interior. The White Connolly Leather gigbag is made using leather from the same supplier who provides Jaguar with the leather for their trim.

In our photographs you will spot an 18k gold Jaguar logo and 'jumping cat' inlays on the fingerboard. On the back of the headstock is a gold decal "Fender Custom Shop" and on the face of the headstock there is another gold Jaguar logo. They really have thought of everything possible to link two world famous companies together on this unique project.
