I am selling my beloved Roland Juno 6, but being a parent I hardly have time to play with it anymore, so I hope someone else will enjoy it as much as I did.
First of all - you are buying a 41 year old synthesizer. It still works and sounds beautiful, but it has its quirks and most of all: it needs some tender love and care.
I don't know how the former owners treated the synth, but the last 14 years it only has been used clean and smoke-free studio or residentual environments.
It is equipped with a CHD Elektroservis JU6-KBD Midi Kit, so you can sequence it with your midi sequencer. The hole I drilled for the midi jack is not the prettiest. But it works.
I only used it for basic midi note sequencing. I never tried the other functions like sys-ex or whatsoever.
I am not responsible if this was implemented properly by the programmerers.
I cleaned it from four centuries of dust in September 2023.
The following problems are known:
OSC/Waveform buttons are quirky - meaning you have to gently tip/push them to turn them on and off. Sometimes twice.
The ARP button has the same behavior. But in most times they work fine.
The Volume knob is super scratchy: Set and forget - otherwise you have to replace it.
When I checked the unit, the sustain slider was a bit noisy. Maybe it needs to be used more often or replaced.
In general - to be on the safe side - on all sliders noise might occur, but it helps to move the sliders up-down a few times.
A little hiss is audible when no sound is played. A noise-gate helps and it is way quieter than the noise-floor of the chorus, which is pretty noisy for 2024 standards.
Luckily parts are still available. But apart from being a bit quirky, you can still have a lot of fun with the synth or refurbish it first. I personally prefer the unit over modern poly synths, but the Juno unfortunately is a bit tricky to bring with me working on different locations.
Other cosmetic damages: (View photos!)
One key has damage that is not visible from above. It does not affect the key in any case.
There is a dent on the top right. A pedal fell there once...
Other minor marks and scratches are present. Check the pictures!
The wooden sides also have marks and scratches.
Please be aware that this is an old-timer and other problems may appear over time.
I will check the unit before packing it safely and will inform you if anything has changed. Most of the listed issues have been present when I purchased the synth back in the days. (It was sold to me ”in good condition” and I did not really bother and just enjoyed making music)
Feel free to contact me with any further questions.
The included video is a piece of music I performed with this synth.
This is a private sale - no warranty or returns are possible.
I did my best to make you aware about the condition of the unit.
Pickup in Berlin preferred! Shipping is possible inside EU and to UK.
