About This Listing

A 1959 Gibson Les Paul Special, TV yellow.

It’s had the usual heel break expertly repaired long ago.

There is an area refinished around the area of the repair.

The pots have been changed... two are 1970, one is 1997 and the other's code is covered by solder...the 'bumble bee' capacitors are original.

Pickups, Frets, Knobs, Pickguard, Jack Plate, Truss rod cover, Switch, tuner bushings and strap buttons are all original.

The tuners are reissue Klusons. I will include the originals but they don't work very well.

At sometime it has had the tuner holes slightly enlarged.. I'm not sure why as the holes are too small for Grover/Schaller type replacements and there are no extra screw holes!

The bridge is an accurate replica.. not sure who it's made by but it seems to have been there for a long time.

The switch tip is a reissue.

The nut is an exact replica of an original 1959 and made of the same Nylon material.

It has had an extra strap button added in the usual place, but now returned to original.

Sounds and plays amazing.. I’ve just had an expert set up in Denmark St
Case is not original

Product Overview
Slightly higher-end than the Les Paul Jr but still considered a student-level guitar, the Les Paul Special was introduced in 1955 with a pair of P-90 pickups. Like other Les Paul models, the Les Paul Special underwent a total transformation at the end of the '50s. The model has been reissued several times since and remains in production.
