Hello, the Plinky is a long out-of-stock and highly sought-after digital synth that originally sold on Thonk.co.uk. The creator, Alex Evans, recently open sourced the production files and software, allowing people like me to manufacture and build our own Plinky. I made one for myself, and decided to build and sell a few extra to help cover the costs.

The main differences between this version and the original production version is that the front panel says "opensource" and the inside PCB is purple (instead of blue) and has a note on it that says that this is an opensource copy and is not officially backed by the creator". This essentially means that you can't go back to Alex to ask for help or a replacement.

The main components on the inside PCB were soldered by the manufacturing plant in China, just like the original production Plinkys were, so the quality of soldering on those important parts are all professional grade. The rest of the soldering, on the jacks and potentiometers, etc, was done by me and is also very good, if I do say so myself. I have tested this unit and calibrated the pitch. All you would need to do is re-calibrate the touch settings, which you can do by turning the B knob when you turn it on.

This is essentially brand new, aside from my testing. I am pricing these close to the original cost of the Plinky because I'm not trying to gouge anyone, especially since Alex and his team graciously provided the production files for free.
