Gitane D-500 Gypsy-Jazz Guitar Acoustic/Electric. Grande Bouche.

For sale is a Gitane D-500 Grande Bouche in near mint or Very Good+ Condition. I had this guitar set up professionally on purchase. It has a nice low action and is easy to play!

Those of you who know about these Gypsy-jazz guitars will know that they look right (exact dimensions), they sound right and are a must-have for all Serious minded Gypsy-jazz players. These guitars are the real workhorse for the gigging Gypsy-jazz guitar player and have become the 'Go to' guitar for professional, semi-professional alike. This is a quality Gypsy Jazz guitar.

The Gitane D-500 Grande Bouche has 12 frets to the body with a shorts scale neck which makes is easier to play than the 14 fret petit bouches. It also has a fuller sound with more low-end. The sound is crisp and bright and it barks like a scrapyard dog, authentic to the gypsy jazz genre.

This one I have only had from new for about 12 months and it's not been played a lot in that time. I have fitted some very nice additions to it.

First of all it's complete with an internally fitted Carlos CS Sensor which faithfully amplifies the authentic sound of this guitar. This internally fitted pickup would cost about £250-300 and usually has to be imported from Spain and is the choice of many of the world's top Gypsy-jazz guitarist. Secondly I have replaced the Gitane tuners with Schaller 24ct gold Snakewood Oval Tuners Grande Tune Classic Hauser which cost around £200 to buy (checkout Schaller site).

Thirdly I had the brass tailpiece the tailpiece is complete with a pure leather guitar protector (in Red) which makes it more like the original Selmer Maccaferri guitars of the 20s 30s.

This guitar plays right and sounds right and with the best quality upgrades/additions available, for the price you'll pay for just the guitar, someone is going to get a great guitar for a bargain price...make sure it's you!

Reason for selling is I just don't play Gypsy-jazz anymore. I have gone down another route of my lifelong musical journey.

The Gitane D500 costs around £1k without the top notch upgrades/additions that you have here, upgrades that cost about £500 so for the price Im asking this deal is a no brainer.
