About This Listing

This is the mandolin used on all the Wilful Missing albums and gigs (see Bandcamp/Spotify) and has been my main instrument for over 15 years. They were made around 1910 for students on a correspondence course in the mandolin and are fantastic value for money. I have loved this instrument, but have had a lovely one made for me.

It has modern machine heads, the old ones were hard work. I may still have them. The headstock has been reinforced on the back with spruce. At some point the frets above the body join have been flatted. If you are crazy enough to want to play mandolin above the 12th fret, this is not the mandolin for you (or the bats and dogs listening)

The audio on the video is unprocessed, no eq, no reverb.

It has a basic case and a B Band pickup with volume control in the soundhole. Fitted with new strings and battery just now. Any questions please ask.

This is a players instrument, plenty of knocks and wear which for me add to the charm. I tried it against every mandolin in Eagle music and would have had to spend £1500+ to better it for tone.
