Another guitar from the Bernie Marsden collection that has a connection to us here at ATB Guitars. These guitars were produced in small numbers, around 185, in the mid-90s as a tribute to the unique stylings of Lonnie Mack.
This guitar is featured on page 129 of Bernie's hardback book 'Tales of Tone and Volume', a copy of which will be included with this sale.
Condition wise, this guitar is in stunning condition. The cherry finish shows no signs of wear and there are only minor scratches.
The neck is in great shape, the finish is still glossy, the fretboard is unmarked and there is plenty of life left in the original frets.
Hardware shows no signs of wear which suggests very little use.
Plastics are in great shape as you’d expect.
Electrically all of the solder joints look to have been undisturbed
The guitar comes with its correct brown hardshell V shaped case with pink lining.
Once you’ve figured out comfortable way to hold the guitar (possible suggestion would be to skip the sitting down and stick it on a strap, one foot up on the monitor) we’re in familiar Gibson territory, especially to those of you who’ve wrangled an SG, albeit with a bit more wood to contend with. Easy access to the whole neck, the Patent Number humbuckers deliver a solid rock tone with the Korina yielding a slightly lighter timbre than its mahogany cousin.
Sometimes a V is what you need. Grab this one before it gets away….
