Here is a REALLY rare bird. 2004 NAMM Show prototype Metro vintage 4. This is one of the 10 basses that Roger Sadowsky took to the 2004 NAMM show to launch the Metro line. This one happens to be # 2 of 10. Pre-metro serial number.
It is a really sweet buttercream color. Tortoise pickguard. Solid Alder body. Maple neck. Morado fingerboard. Sadowsky preamp and pickups. Sadowsky drop D tuner.
In good condition with average players wear. Has some minor dings in body and some light ones on back of neck. It has been played by a pro bassist for a number of years. Includes a worn Sadowsky case.
This is the same as the older golden era NYC Sadowsky basses. Nice weight right around 9 lbs. Solid non-chambered body. Awesome bass. Sweet neck profile. Amazing deep punchy tone that the newer chambered Sadowsky NYC basses seem to be missing. Has that nice low-mid punch.
This is one of the best Sadowsky basses I have come across. I have been playing Sadowsky basses and guitars since 1991. I have had quite a few over the years and have had a lot in and out of my shop. It was traded into my shop by a pro bassist towards a new custom touring rig.
If this were a 5 string, this would be the game ender for me...... incredible deep passive tone....and the active tone is all Sadowsky thump. If you are a serious bassist and happen to be looking for a sick 4 string, this one will please you......
