A beautiful, all original Kay Galaxy hollow body electric guitar.
Made in USA at Kay’s notorious Chicago factory, between 1966-68 (the brief 2 years for which this model was in production).
This guitar features:
- 2x original Kay ‘speed bump’ pickups
- Kay Bigsby-style tremolo
- Bound rosewood fingerboard
- 6 on a plate Kluson nickel tuners with white buttons
- 2x volume and 2x tone knobs
- Flamed maple top, back and sides
A beautiful example of the high quality workmanship coming out of the Kay factory during the 1960s.
Features a beautiful sunburst finish atop of a light flamed maple top.
All original with period appointments including factory Kluson 6 on a plate nickel tuners and the highly coveted 2x factory speed bump pickups.
Plays wonderfully, with a comfortable action and some great tones out of the speed bump pickups. The neck profile is relatively chunky - 60s Kays didn’t see the same slimming of necks as their USA contemporaries, this one is something akin to a late-50s Gibson profile.
In fantastic used condition for its age, with some lacquer checking, marks and signs of playing wear, but no significant damage, breaks or evident repairs.
Shipping to UK mainland only.
