Stentor 1500 1/4 size

This is a restored and greatly upgraded Stentor 1500 1/4 size upright bass and padded bag.

The bass came to me stock with a hairline crack in the neck heel. Since then I have had a great deal of work done to the bass by an exceptionally gifted and respected luthier in the south east of England.

This is a great little student bass with a 35 inch scale length. It has been professionally setup and would be great for a young musician looking to get into the double bass as well as an electric bass player who feels the stretch to a full size double bass might seem a little daunting.

Work carried out on the instrument includes.

-Repairing and reinforcing the neck joint

-Professional dressing and refinishing of the fingerboard.

-Bridge setup

- Original metal talepiece replaced with hardwood talepiece which has singnificantly improved the sound of the bass.
- Probably most importantly is that the solid spruce top of the bass has been regraduated and thinned out, allowing for more movement from the top plate resulting in the bass opening up a great deal more than your average student level bass.
-The bass is strung with Correli 370 strings.
