This is an original very early 63rd ever made (with the hand written by Maelzel no,63 on the inside of the bottom cover and matching hand written no,63 on the inside of the bottom case where the key goes, )it is in amazing condition and fully working with all its original parts that it was made with and sold with when it was first made. I sent some pictures to one of the main refurbishers and collectors internet sites because I was unsure if the numbers was related to amount made and also because this one has a more detailed frame for the mechanism. Also so they have more information on these antique original first made metronomes because this and other early hand made models are all prototypes and finished product and variations clearly still in the process, making the early ones rarer, unique and special beauty of the look sound and feel of these timeless but perfect timed metronomes. This is a built by the creator never mind Seth Thomas, you can't get better than this. Only a few after the other early one was given to Beethoven?? Or Bach. I am not sure at the moment but it was given to and loved by one of the great composers of the time. I am not sure what the value of this is but going on the one selling for 357 with a different door and new printed labels and painted in the wrong dark colours. With back foot in the wrong place, a lot newer without the early number or built by Maezler. Later versions from around the world that were not made by Maezler himself and when his metronome had become popular around the world and obviously he couldn't make them all, later ones then produced in the same design by great manufacturers like Seth Thomas and Metzler "Metzler I think is what most of us tend to name them, even I kept searching for that and Maezler doesn't match a search on here?" But I'm sure those who are real collectors and aficionados on these very rare early metronomes will be aware of all this, compared to far later models that are not even made by Maezler and the price they sell for and comparing to this, should make the value of this be tens of thousands. So I will take offers and see how it goes thanks. I have some other very early and rare mutes to list. Please let me know if you think I have made any mistakes and also please let me and everyone else have any other information that will help us all learn more about them. Thanks again
I've lowered the price to probably a more realistic one but this is definitely the best condition of one I have seen and for such an early original model this is a bargain. Thanks again
