Up for sale are a pair of Tannoy FSM "fine studio monitors" Mains in perfect working condition. These speakers come from a local Charlotte NC recording studio that has been in continuous operation since the 60s. They were installed brand new in 1987 and have sat there until recently. The studio is changing to a multi media and office facility complex so these are no longer needed. Many hit albums were mixed using these speakers and the quality is unmistakable Tannoy with an amazing build integrity made in England. The speakers were installed upside down for acoustical reasons and the wood cabinets are in amazing conditions with only some minor signs of age like small marks on the top from the rubber bases. They look amazing and would look even better if wiped down with linseed oil.

They have a big reputation as Audiophile speakers for home HI-FI setups and many Audiophiles claim these as one of the best loud speakers suited for that purpose. I personally heard a pair of these compared side by side to some Original Carver Amazings and I was very impressed, both speakers had their own sound but as a Studio Engineer, I preferred the Tannoys. Some of the best studios in the world had these installed when they were introduced and their reputation as client impressors are well known. Loud, balanced and amazing midrange clarity for a far field speaker. They can be hooked up full range or using the factory dividing network / crossover, there are multiple options on the front panel for fine tuning. They were re-coned at some point in the mid 90s with factory Tannoy re-coning kits by a professional speaker repair man.

They are big and heavy so we are listing these for local pickup only and as always with local pickup I can not accept PayPal and payment must be made with cash.. I would consider at the buyers expense these being picked up by a 3rd party shipping service but that must be arranged by the buyer prior to purchasing.
