From the serial number made in 1958 according to Contempora Corner - the main tuning slide, valve-slides and pistons all being stamped with the last three digits of the serial number. The leadpipe was upgraded with a #2 leadpipe (made by Domenick Calicchio) - from the Calicchio website:
#2 Leadpipe
This is the world-renowned Leadpipe - great for any situation. Its unique design provides lightning-quick response with a very open air column. The 2 pipe gives the player the ability to play at any volume with immediate, clean attacks and a large, focused sound.
The top model from Reynolds, when they joined forces with Olds this was the counterpart of the Mendez model above the Recording - I found this description from the Contempora Corner website:
"Introduced in 1949, Reynolds Contempora trumpets featured a larger bore size, bronze alloy bell and distinctive first-valve tuning “trigger” mechanism compared to the earlier F.A. Reynolds models.
Contempora B♭ Trumpet | First-valve “trigger” mechanism; optional third-valve trigger | Bell: Bronz-o-lyte bell with nickel-silver tone ring | Body: brass with nickel-silver upper valve casings (balusters) and trim; bronze-alloy mouthpiece receiver | Valves: top-loaded, inner-spring Monel valve pistons."
This LargeBore example (0.462") has the optional third-valve trigger. Super-fast short action valves.
No patches! There are a few minor dings - nothing which compromises the playability of this great playing vintage classic. Only selling as I am playing less since moving into a quiet house and I have another horn.
The case is in fair condition, both latches work, however, the interior is fairly worn after more than 60 years use!
